This morning, like many mornings, I was rushing through a crowded airport trying to catch my connecting flight. As I got off my first flight I frantically searched for the departure board so I could see the status of my next flight. I needed to know what time the plane was leaving, if it was on time, and most importantly, what gate it was leaving from. Can you image getting around an airport without departure and arrival boards?
Then a connection to our EAM systems hit me. How can our maintenance teams or customer operations know where they stand if we don't provide real time information? If they can’t see critical metrics and KPIs displayed, how will they know where they are going?
TV's are relatively cheap. I just bought a 55" for around $400. So, what is keeping us from putting displays up and providing access to our key metrics and KPIs?
Think of the frustration that is caused when we don't know where we are or where we are going. Just like you see in airports, isn't it time you posted your EAM metrics in a simple display?
Help your team easily navigate through the crowded maintenance backlog and understand where they are going and when they need to be there.
Until next time…I’m Marty, make every minute count.
