I just heard a great story from a sales leader who was challenging his team to get better. When he asked the team if they could tell him where the next club trip for top salespeople was, he was shocked by the answer.
Not one of them knew where the trip was this year. The problem wasn’t that they didn’t know where the location was, the problem was that they did not believe they were going to be successful and earn the trip. So why worry about where it was going to be hosted?
Isn’t that the problem in life when we aren’t expecting success? We don’t expect to win so why try? We justify not succeeding with all kinds of excuses, but really, we have no one to blame but ourselves.
Someone is winning, so why isn’t it you?
I’ve talked about this is in previous Marty’s Minutes – you need to invest in yourself. What are you doing to make yourself better? If you don’t invest in yourself why would anyone else?
Life is too short. Isn’t it time you expect success and build the mindset of a winner? Remember, the only one who is stopping you is you.
Until next time…I’m Marty, make every minute count.
