How many of you remember Will Rogers? He was known as Oklahoma's favorite son. He was a motion picture and stage actor along with being a cowboy and humorist, columnist, and newspaper writer. In the 1930s he was the highest paid Hollywood star.
What I loved about Will was he joked about everyone. He mixed whit with honesty and he poked fun at all the prominent people of his time. When I went back and read some of his quotes, I realized they are something we can all laugh at, but also take away great truths from.
Here are 7 of my favorite quotes:
Never miss a good chance to shut up.
If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket.
There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to touch an electric fence.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
If you’re riding ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it’s still there.
Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier’n puttin’ it back.
Words of wisdom that stand the test of time.
Until next time…I'm Marty, make every minute count.
