One of the challenges we face in business is dealing with the “Good enough” folks. You know the type. They say things like, “This is good enough,” or, “Why change this, it’s good enough.”
The good enough holds us back from being our best.
What we need to be saying is, “I can do better” and, “How can I make this more valuable.” The possibility of better can open all kinds of new opportunities. Better encourages us to see what’s out there and begs us to see how we could improve.
When we want to get better, it challenges us and gives us a chance to seek dramatic improvement on behalf of those we seek to serve. Better allows us to learn. And it opens our minds to what’s possible.
Next time you get confronted with good enough, push yourself to not maintain the status quo, but look at the possibility of better and see how far it can take you.
Until next time…I’m Marty, make every minute count.
